Apple announced the expansion of its American Manufacturing Program (AMP) by adding Bosch, Cirrus Logic, TDK, and Qnity Electronics as new partners and committing $400 million through 2030 to increase the volume of chips and components produced in the United States.

The new partners bring distinct capabilities: TDK will manufacture sensors in the U.S. for the first time; Apple, Bosch, and TSMC will collaborate on integrated circuits for Bosch’s sensing hardware at TSMC’s Washington facility; Apple, Cirrus Logic, and GlobalFoundries will establish new semiconductor process technologies at GlobalFoundries’ Malta, New York, facility to develop mixed‑signal solutions for Face ID; and Qnity Electronics and HD MicroSystems will provide materials and technologies for semiconductor manufacturing and advanced electronics.

This expansion is part of Apple’s $600 billion, four‑year commitment to U.S. manufacturing and innovation, launched in August 2025. It follows the company’s earlier announcement of a $600 billion investment that includes a new Mac Mini facility in Houston, with production slated to begin later in 2026.

Apple’s strategy is to increase domestic sourcing of critical components, strengthen supply‑chain resilience, and create jobs. The partnership with Cirrus Logic is expected to bring a new Face ID integrated circuit that could generate roughly $180 million in incremental revenue for Cirrus Logic in fiscal 2027, representing an 8.4% lift in its projected revenue for that year. Apple’s focus on sensors, integrated circuits, and materials for AI and Face ID underscores its commitment to advanced technology and supply‑chain diversification.

Cirrus Logic shares rose 5–6% on the day of the announcement, reflecting investor enthusiasm for the new Face ID component opportunity. Apple’s stock did not show a notable reaction in the data provided.

"At Apple, we believe in the power of American innovation and manufacturing, and we're proud to partner with even more companies to produce critical components and cutting‑edge materials for our products right here in the U.S. Today, we're joining with world‑class partners like Bosch, Cirrus Logic, TDK, and Qnity Electronics to further expand Apple's U.S. supply chain through our American Manufacturing Program. This is another powerful example of what is possible when we invest in American ingenuity, and we're excited to build the future together." – Tim Cook

"Apple is deeply committed to the future of American manufacturing, and we're proud to significantly expand our footprint in Houston with the production of Mac mini starting later this year. We began shipping advanced AI servers from Houston ahead of schedule, and we're excited to accelerate that work even further." – Tim Cook
