ABM Industries secured a contract to deliver its ABM Performance Solutions model for Vanderbilt University’s new 150,000‑sq‑ft campus at the historic General Theological Seminary site in Chelsea, Manhattan. The campus, spanning 2.7 acres and comprising 13 buildings, is slated to open in fall 2026.
Under the agreement, ABM will manage end‑to‑end facility, engineering, and infrastructure services—including cleaning, landscaping, EV charging, energy savings, waste and recycling, and athletic field care—through renovation, startup, and ongoing maintenance. The contract underscores ABM’s strategy of securing large, long‑term service agreements with institutional customers and showcases its APS model, which integrates self‑performance, technology, and measurable KPIs.
Vanderbilt’s expansion into New York City is part of its “dare to grow” mission, aiming to leverage the city’s opportunities in technology, finance, media, and the arts. The new campus will serve as a strategic outpost for undergraduate and graduate programs, internships, and community engagement, while preserving the historic character of the General Theological Seminary site.
The contract adds a high‑profile client to ABM’s portfolio of more than 200 colleges and universities. While the financial terms of the agreement are not disclosed, the win signals ABM’s continued momentum in the higher‑education sector. In its most recent earnings report, ABM posted revenue of $2.2 billion, up 6.1% year‑over‑year, and adjusted net income of $50.4 million, or $0.83 per diluted share, slightly below the $0.87 EPS of the prior year.
"This project represents a unique opportunity to combine historic preservation with next‑generation educational infrastructure. We’re proud to partner with world‑renowned Vanderbilt University as it brings its mission to New York City, and to support a campus that will inspire students and alumni while contributing to one of the country’s most dynamic urban communities," said Scott Camp, President of Education at ABM.
The partnership demonstrates how ABM’s integrated approach can deliver modern performance standards while honoring historic sites, positioning the company to capture additional opportunities in the growing market for institutional facility management.
