Airbnb announced a partnership with Welcome Pickups that launches a private‑car pickup service for guests in 125 cities across Asia, Europe and Latin America. The service, available to book directly through the Airbnb platform, offers a meet‑and‑greet and door‑to‑door transport from or to an Airbnb listing.
The move is a concrete step toward Airbnb’s “one‑stop trip” vision, which began with the launch of its Services product in May 2025. By adding ground transportation, Airbnb reduces friction for travelers, increases the likelihood of repeat bookings, and opens a new revenue stream that leverages the company’s existing booking infrastructure while outsourcing the complex logistics to an established local provider.
During a pilot earlier in 2026, the service received an average rating of 4.96 out of 5, indicating strong guest acceptance. The partnership does not yet cover the United States, Canada or Africa, but expansion into those markets is planned as the service scales.
The partnership is expected to enhance Airbnb’s competitive position against full‑service travel platforms such as Expedia, which bundle accommodation, transportation and activities. By partnering with Welcome Pickups, Airbnb mitigates regulatory and logistical risks in diverse markets and gains operational leverage without building a transportation network in-house.
Dave Stephenson, Airbnb’s Chief Business Officer, said, “Airbnb Services are designed to enhance a guest’s stay, and our partnership with Welcome Pickups delivers that from the moment they arrive. Now guests can book a private car service in advance, taking the hassle out of organizing transportation in a new city. We’re excited to expand Airbnb Services with more helpful offerings, and this is just the start.” Alex Trimis, CEO of Welcome Pickups, added, “Arriving in a new destination should feel exciting, not stressful. For years, Welcome Pickups has helped travelers plan that moment in advance, with reliable transfers and a personal welcome waiting when they arrive. We’re thrilled to partner with Airbnb to bring that experience directly into the travel journey and help even more guests start their trip with confidence.”
The partnership reflects Airbnb’s broader strategy to diversify beyond accommodation, adding experiences, grocery delivery and hotel bookings. By integrating transportation, Airbnb strengthens its ecosystem, improves customer experience, and positions itself to capture a larger share of the travel market.”
