Accenture Federal Services announced it has secured a 4.5‑year contract to modernize the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ electronic health record system. The agreement will replace legacy systems with Oracle Health’s integrated EHR platform for more than 9 million veterans.

The award is a significant win for Accenture’s federal business, which represents roughly 8 % of the company’s total revenue. The new contract adds a long‑term revenue stream and reinforces Accenture’s position as a leading provider of large‑scale, mission‑critical technology solutions in the public sector.

The modernization effort will deploy Oracle Health’s platform across VA facilities, enabling real‑time data sharing, AI‑driven analytics, and improved patient care coordination. Accenture’s leadership highlighted the partnership’s role in accelerating the VA’s digital transformation and its broader strategy to embed AI and digital capabilities in government programs.

Accenture has a history of working with the VA, including a $162 million contract in 2014 and a $439 million task order in 2025. The new 4.5‑year agreement expands that relationship and is expected to generate substantial recurring revenue, though the total contract value has not been disclosed.

Management emphasized that the deal will help offset recent headwinds in the federal business, which had a 1 % impact on revenue growth in the first quarter of fiscal 2026 and is projected to face a 1‑1.5 % headwind in the full year. The contract’s long duration and integration of AI capabilities position Accenture to capture additional growth in the public‑sector technology market.

Ron Ash, CEO of Accenture Federal Services, said the partnership “represents a significant commitment from our global and federal leadership to bring the best of Accenture to the Department of Veterans Affairs.” Susie Rainey, Managing Director for the VA, added that Accenture’s track record “builds on a foundation of mission success, from modernizing education benefits to reducing wait times for community care referrals.”
