ADTRAN received conditional approval from the FCC’s Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau for its Service Delivery Gateway (SDG) carrier‑grade router portfolio, exempting the platforms from the FCC Covered List until October 1 2027.

The approval removes a regulatory hurdle that had previously limited ADTRAN’s ability to ship, authorize and deploy SDG routers to public‑safety and homeland‑security customers. With the exemption in place, the company can continue to serve existing clients and pursue new opportunities in these critical segments without interruption.

The SDG portfolio represents a significant portion of ADTRAN’s network solutions segment. In Q4 2025 the company reported $291.6 million in revenue, a 20.1 % year‑over‑year increase, and it is guiding Q1 2026 revenue to $275 million–$295 million. The FCC approval is expected to support continued growth in the public‑safety and homeland‑security markets and strengthen ADTRAN’s competitive positioning against peers such as Calix, Ciena and DZS.

Robert Conger, general manager of strategy and solutions, said, "This FCC approval is built on 40 years of trusted expertise. For service providers, it offers important certainty at a time when long‑term infrastructure planning is critical." Eric Presworsky, GM of subscriber solutions, added, "Achieving this approval reflects the strength of our long‑standing commitment to secure, trusted networking innovation. For more than 40 years, we've combined deep networking expertise with disciplined engineering, transparent supply chain practices and a security‑by‑design approach to product development." The company also noted that the milestone reinforces its dedication to delivering resilient, compliant technologies that customers can depend on as their networks scale.

The FCC’s Covered List is part of a broader national‑security initiative that restricts equipment deemed to pose an unacceptable risk. ADTRAN’s exemption demonstrates that its SDG platforms meet the FCC’s stringent security and supply‑chain transparency criteria, giving the company a clear advantage in government contracts where trust and compliance are paramount.

Investors have viewed the approval as a positive development, noting that it removes a regulatory risk for a significant revenue‑generating product line and positions ADTRAN favorably for future growth in the public‑safety and homeland‑security sectors.
