Aduro Clean Technologies Inc. (ADUR) has begun initial operating campaigns at its Next Generation Process (NGP) Pilot Plant in London, Ontario, marking a critical transition from commissioning to full operational testing. The plant, which was fully commissioned in December 2025, is now running its integrated process, utilities, automation, and safety systems in continuous operation to collect performance data and refine operating windows.

The pilot facility is designed to validate the company’s proprietary Hydrochemolytic™ technology at a larger scale. By running real‑world, customer‑supplied mixed waste plastic samples under extended, integrated operating conditions, the plant will generate the mass‑ and energy‑balance data needed to inform the design and engineering of ADUR’s first‑of‑a‑kind (FOAK) industrial plant. The data will also help optimize yield, improve process stability, and reduce capital and operating cost assumptions for the commercial‑scale facility.

Chief Operating Officer David Weizenbach emphasized that the pilot plant “extends the work completed in the R2 continuous‑flow reactor, enabling us to evaluate mixed waste plastic samples from customer programs and other real‑world sources under longer‑durations and more integrated operating conditions.” CEO Ofer Vicus added that the structured test operations “advance our path to commercialization and deepen stakeholder engagement,” noting that the FOAK site has been selected and that the London plant’s results will directly inform design and integration planning.

The milestone underscores ADUR’s progress in the circular‑economy and clean‑fuels markets. By demonstrating the scalability of Hydrochemolytic technology—capable of converting a wide range of plastics, including those difficult to recycle mechanically, into valuable chemicals and fuels—the company is de‑risking its commercial model and positioning itself to capture growing demand for sustainable feedstock solutions.
