Aehr Test Systems announced a $14 million production order from its lead AI‑processor customer, a major hyperscaler that designs and manufactures AI processors for data‑center training and inference. The order includes multiple fully automated FOX‑XP wafer‑level burn‑in systems, proprietary WaferPak contactors, and an automated WaferPak auto‑aligner.

Each FOX‑XP system can test nine 300‑mm wafers in parallel, a capability that meets the high‑power requirements of next‑generation AI processors. The order will allow the customer to scale testing capacity and accelerate time‑to‑market for its AI chips.

The order adds a multi‑million‑dollar contract to Aehr’s backlog and will be recognized over the coming quarters as the systems are delivered and installed. It also reinforces Aehr’s strategic pivot from silicon‑carbide to AI‑chip testing, positioning the company as a key supplier for high‑power burn‑in solutions in the rapidly growing AI market.

Aehr’s Q2 fiscal 2026 results showed a revenue miss of $1.9 million and a GAAP net loss of $3.2 million, driven in part by a 29.8% gross margin that fell from 45.3% in the prior year. The decline was attributed to lower sales volume and a shift toward lower‑margin system and service revenue, as well as investments in manufacturing capacity. Management reaffirmed its second‑half fiscal 2026 revenue guidance of $25 million to $30 million and bookings of $60 million to $80 million, underscoring confidence in sustained AI demand.

President and CEO Gayn Erickson said, "This order further expands our installed base of FOX‑XP systems and adds full automation across our production lines, highlighting the growing importance of WLBI to ensure the long‑term reliability of today’s very high‑power, high‑current AI processors." She added, "We are pleased to receive this production order from our lead AI‑processor customer that is a manufacturer and supplier of AI processors used in large‑scale data‑center environments for both training and inference workloads as they continue to expand high‑volume manufacturing."

The order signals strong demand for Aehr’s specialized wafer‑level burn‑in technology and validates the company’s focus on the AI sector, a market that continues to drive growth for high‑power semiconductor testing solutions.
