AMD and Celestica announced a strategic collaboration to develop and market the Helios rack‑scale AI platform, a fully integrated system that combines AMD’s Instinct MI450 Series GPUs with Celestica‑designed networking switches. The platform will be available to customers in late 2026 and is engineered to support hyperscale AI deployments using open standards such as the Open Compute Project, Open‑Rack‑Wide, and Ultra Accelerator Link over Ethernet.

Helios leverages AMD’s chiplet architecture to deliver high‑performance compute while Celestica’s expertise in data‑center hardware and networking provides the necessary interconnectivity and reliability for large‑scale AI workloads. The use of open standards is intended to give customers flexibility and avoid vendor lock‑in, a key consideration for hyperscale and enterprise clients seeking modular, high‑density solutions.

The partnership marks a strategic shift for AMD from selling individual AI accelerators to offering complete system solutions, positioning the company to compete more directly with NVIDIA in the high‑margin AI infrastructure market. By integrating compute, networking, and infrastructure, AMD can accelerate time‑to‑value for cloud and enterprise customers and strengthen its data‑center AI franchise.

The collaboration is driven by strong market demand for AI infrastructure and AMD’s recent multi‑year agreements with Meta and OpenAI, which are expected to use Helios systems. The partnership also taps Celestica’s manufacturing and supply‑chain capabilities, enabling rapid scaling and deployment of the platform to meet the needs of hyperscale operators.

"Deploying AI at scale requires infrastructure that can be delivered quickly, consistently, and with the performance customers expect. Our collaboration with AMD on the ‘Helios’ platform brings together our global engineering, manufacturing, and supply‑chain capabilities with AMD’s innovation in high‑performance computing," said Steven Dorwart, SVP and GM, Hyperscalers, Celestica.

"Helios represents a new blueprint for AI infrastructure, enabling customers to deploy AI at scale with the performance, efficiency, and flexibility required for the next generation of workloads. We are pleased to work with Celestica, leveraging their expertise in delivering leading‑edge networking switch technology with AMD’s leadership in high‑performance and AI computing," said Forrest Norrod, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Data Center Solutions Business Group, AMD.

The announcement was met with a positive market reaction, reflecting investor optimism about the partnership’s potential to expand AMD’s AI footprint and strengthen its competitive position against NVIDIA.
