DigitalOcean announced the launch of new GPU Droplets powered by AMD Instinct MI350X GPUs for its Agentic Inference Cloud, a platform designed for AI‑native workloads. The announcement was made on February 19 2026 and marks a significant expansion of DigitalOcean’s AI infrastructure portfolio.

The MI350X is AMD’s latest AI accelerator, built on the 4th‑generation CDNA architecture and manufactured on TSMC’s 3 nm process. It features 288 GB of HBM3E memory and 8 TB/s of memory bandwidth, and supports FP4 and FP6 data types. These specifications give the MI350X a performance advantage for inference workloads and position it as a direct competitor to NVIDIA’s Blackwell‑based GPUs.

DigitalOcean’s move follows a series of GPU‑related announcements, including earlier collaborations with AMD on MI300X and MI325X GPUs in June 2025. The new MI350X‑powered droplets are intended to provide customers with a cost‑efficient, high‑performance inference option that can handle large models and high‑throughput workloads. "The availability of the AMD Instinct MI350X GPUs, combined with DigitalOcean’s inference‑optimized platform, offers our customers a boost in performance and the massive memory capacity needed to run the world’s most complex AI workloads while delivering compelling unit economics," said Vinay Kumar, Chief Product and Technology Officer at DigitalOcean.

For AMD, the launch extends the reach of its Instinct family into a major cloud provider’s product line, reinforcing its strategy to capture a larger share of the AI accelerator market. "By bringing the AMD Instinct™ MI350 Series GPUs to DigitalOcean’s Agentic Inference Cloud, we are empowering startups and enterprises alike to deploy and scale next‑generation AI workloads with confidence," said Negin Oliver, Corporate Vice President of Business Development, Data Center GPU Business at AMD.

The announcement was met with positive investor sentiment, reflecting confidence in AMD’s AI accelerator strategy and DigitalOcean’s expanding AI services. Analysts noted that the MI350X’s high memory capacity and bandwidth could give DigitalOcean a competitive edge over NVIDIA‑based offerings, while AMD’s price increase for the MI350 series in July 2025 had already signaled strong demand from hyperscalers.

The launch signals a continued push by both companies into the AI infrastructure space. For DigitalOcean, the new GPU droplets broaden its appeal to developers and enterprises seeking scalable, inference‑optimized cloud services. For AMD, the partnership strengthens its presence in the cloud market and could drive additional revenue from data‑center deployments, even as the company remains a minority player in the overall AI accelerator market.
