CoreSite, a subsidiary of American Tower, announced the addition of two Community IX internet exchanges—FL‑IX in Miami (MI1) and CIX‑NoVA in Northern Virginia (VA1). The announcement was made on February 26, 2026, and the new exchanges bring Community IX’s largest member‑run exchange to CoreSite’s facilities.

CIX‑NoVA launched in August 2025, adding 400G port availability in all CIX‑NoVA locations and select FL‑IX locations. The launch date for FL‑IX is not specified, but it is concurrent with the February 26 announcement.

The expansion strengthens CoreSite’s position as a leading interconnection data‑center platform, allowing customers to connect directly to a broader network ecosystem. It expands interconnection capabilities for Community IX members in the southeastern United States, providing low‑latency, cost‑effective IP traffic exchange for ISPs, content providers, and enterprises.

CoreSite’s data‑center segment revenue grew 14.1% year‑over‑year in Q3 2025 to $267 million, reflecting strong demand for low‑latency, multi‑cloud connectivity driven by AI and other data‑intensive workloads. The addition of the new exchanges is a tangible step toward capturing that demand.

Community IX already operates its Atlanta Internet Exchange (CIX‑ATL) in CoreSite’s Atlanta (AT1) facility since 2020. With FL‑IX and CIX‑NoVA, Community IX now offers 25+ sites in Southern Florida, Northern Virginia, and Atlanta, supporting 225+ connected networks with 35 Tbps+ of connected capacity.

Chris Malayter, VP of Networking and Interconnection at CoreSite, said: "CoreSite values partners like Community IX that provide platforms that connect organizations and help build dynamic ecosystems that empower today's businesses. Our interconnected, reliable facilities ensure the speed and stability of connections that enable businesses to thrive in a fast‑paced, modern business landscape."

Steven Vondran, CEO of American Tower, noted the company’s overall performance: "We delivered another strong quarter, resulting in mid‑to‑high single‑digit growth in revenue and Adjusted EBITDA, and double‑digit growth in AFFO per Share, as adjusted. Our unmatched portfolio of digital infrastructure continues to benefit from rapid growth in global data demand."

The expansion aligns with American Tower’s broader strategy to grow its data‑center segment, which has already seen 14% revenue growth in Q3 2025. By adding FL‑IX and CIX‑NoVA, CoreSite expands its interconnection footprint in key data‑center hubs, positioning the company to capture the growing demand for low‑latency, AI‑driven connectivity.
