América Móvil reported a 25.1% increase in net profit for the first quarter of 2026, bringing earnings to 23.4 billion pesos. Revenue rose 2.1% year‑over‑year to 236.8 billion pesos, beating the consensus estimate of 230.96 billion pesos by 2.55%. Earnings per share were 0.3969, 4.25% below the analyst consensus of 0.4145.

The lift in profit was driven by a 12.7% rise in operating profit and a 9.9% decline in financing costs. EBITDA margin expanded to 39.9%, up from 39.2% in the same quarter a year earlier, reflecting stronger pricing power in high‑margin postpaid and broadband services. The company added roughly 3 million new postpaid mobile subscribers, with Brazil contributing 1.3 million of those additions.

América Móvil’s results come as the company shifts from a heavy investment phase to a free‑cash‑flow‑generating stage, following extensive 5G and fiber deployments across Latin America. The March 2026 acquisition of Brazilian internet provider Desktop for $753 million further strengthens its broadband footprint and positions the firm to capture higher‑value customers.

CEO Daniel Hajj Aboumrad said the company is “focused on leveraging our strong infrastructure to deliver superior customer experiences and drive growth across our markets.” The comment underscores the firm’s emphasis on network quality and service expansion as key drivers of future earnings.

The earnings miss on EPS, while revenue beat expectations, highlights the impact of higher operating costs and pricing pressures in certain markets. Nevertheless, the company’s ability to grow revenue, expand its subscriber base, and maintain a robust EBITDA margin signals continued operational strength and a solid path toward free cash flow generation.
