Angi Inc. launched an integration that embeds its Angi app into OpenAI’s ChatGPT platform, enabling homeowners to describe home‑service projects in natural language and receive instant, vetted professional matches. The launch, announced on March 4 2026, expands Angi’s proprietary service‑request channel and positions the company to capture a growing segment of homeowners who prefer conversational interfaces for home‑service needs.

The integration builds on Angi’s AI Helper, which went live in June 2025. In that period, users of the AI Helper were three times more likely to request quotes and 25 % more likely to report successful project completion, according to the company’s own data. The ChatGPT embedding extends that reach to the millions of users who interact with the AI chatbot daily.

By embedding its services within a widely used AI platform, Angi aims to streamline the customer journey from initial inquiry to hiring a professional. The move is expected to increase lead conversion and project completion rates, as the conversational interface reduces friction and provides instant, personalized recommendations. In a market dominated by rivals such as Thumbtack and TaskRabbit, the integration could give Angi a competitive edge by offering a more seamless and intuitive user experience.

Angie Hicks, co‑founder, said, 'Homeowners are starting projects differently. Instead of searching multiple websites, many now begin by asking an AI assistant what to do and what it may cost. Having our app in ChatGPT turns those conversations from recommendations into real‑world action – helping homeowners understand their project, set expectations and connect with the right skilled pro. By pairing AI guidance with Angi's trusted network and 30 years of home services experience, we're simplifying how people find and hire pros so more home projects get done well.'

CEO Jeffrey Kip emphasized the company’s enthusiasm for AI, noting that Angi is 'very excited about our prospects in the AI landscape' and that the firm has 'started working actively working with every LLM. We have had conversations and are an effective dialogue.' CFO Andrew Russakoff added that the company will be deploying dollars for offline marketing, including $3 million of new creative, after having pulled back on marketing spend in the first quarter of the previous year.

Angi has faced financial headwinds, including a declining revenue growth rate and a distressed Altman Z‑Score, but has also reported doubled EBITDA and positive free cash flow over the past three years, alongside improvements in net promoter score and churn reduction. Management has guided for low single‑digit revenue growth in 2026, reflecting cautious optimism amid ongoing market pressures.

The ChatGPT integration is a key milestone in Angi’s broader AI‑first strategy, which also includes partnerships with Amazon Alexa and active engagement with other large language models. By embedding AI into its core customer acquisition funnel, Angi seeks to industrialize home services, improve operational efficiency, and position itself for sustainable growth in a competitive digital marketplace.
