Air Products has been selected by Samsung Electronics to supply ultra‑high purity nitrogen, oxygen, argon and hydrogen for a new advanced semiconductor fabrication plant in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The agreement requires Air Products to build, own and operate multiple state‑of‑the‑art production facilities and a bulk specialty gas supply system that will deliver the gases to the fab in phases from 2028 through 2030.

Under the terms of the deal, Air Products will invest its largest capital outlay to date in the semiconductor industry. The Pyeongtaek site will become the company’s single largest operations hub for the electronics sector, reflecting the scale of the commitment and the long‑term partnership with Samsung.

Air Products’ recent financial performance underscores its capacity to support this investment. In the first quarter of fiscal 2026, the company reported adjusted earnings per share of $3.16, revenue of approximately $3.1 billion, and an operating margin of 24.4%. Management maintained full‑year adjusted EPS guidance of $12.85 to $13.15, indicating confidence in continued profitability while pursuing strategic growth in high‑margin semiconductor gas supply.

Samsung’s new P5 fab in Pyeongtaek is slated to begin production in 2028 and will host advanced semiconductor manufacturing processes. Air Products has a long‑standing relationship with Samsung, supplying gases and equipment for multiple facilities. “Air Products is honored to be selected once again by Samsung and to have their continued confidence as a trusted partner supporting their strategic growth plans,” said SR Kim, President of Air Products Korea. “This significant investment reinforces Air Products’ role as a leading global supplier to the semiconductor industry and underscores our long‑standing commitment to supporting our strategic customers with safety, reliability, efficiency and excellent service.”

The partnership highlights the critical role of ultra‑high purity gases in semiconductor fabrication. By securing a dedicated supply chain for Samsung’s next‑generation fab, Air Products positions itself as a key enabler of advanced chip production, while the phased rollout through 2030 provides a long‑term revenue stream that aligns with the industry’s shift toward higher‑performance, energy‑efficient manufacturing.
