Arqit Quantum Inc. and RAD have announced a partnership that combines Arqit’s NetworkSecure key‑generation technology with RAD’s high‑performance ETX Carrier Edge platform to deliver a quantum‑safe encryption solution for telecommunications operators. The joint offering enables site‑to‑site and site‑to‑cloud VPNs, as well as data‑center interconnect services, that are protected against quantum‑era attacks such as “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later.”

The collaboration is positioned to give telcos a crypto‑agile, hybrid post‑quantum solution that can be deployed without replacing existing infrastructure. By integrating Arqit’s software‑based symmetric key agreement with RAD’s carrier‑grade hardware, the partnership expands Arqit’s reach into the telecom sector and provides a potential revenue channel as telcos upgrade their networks to meet emerging quantum threats. The solution addresses the growing demand for quantum‑resistant security in the telecom industry, where long‑term data confidentiality is critical.

"The urgent need for institutions globally to fortify their encryption against public key infrastructure weaknesses, HNDL and the fast‑approaching quantum threat to long‑term data security is beyond dispute. We believe that by collaborating with RAD, telcos will benefit from a crypto‑agile and hybrid, post quantum solution," said Andy Leaver, CEO of Arqit Quantum. "By leveraging Arqit's key generation technology, hybridized with Post Quantum algorithms, and together with RAD's unique high speed wireline encryption, we strengthen our quantum security ecosystem, adding another layer of defense to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape of threats and technologies," added Eli Angel, VP Product & Marketing at RAD.

The partnership positions Arqit and RAD to capitalize on the increasing demand for quantum‑safe solutions in the telecom industry. RAD’s established presence in networking edge solutions and its extensive customer base among communications service providers and critical infrastructure operators provide a robust distribution channel for Arqit’s technology. The collaboration also aligns with Arqit’s strategy of integrating its software‑centric solutions into existing infrastructure, potentially accelerating the company’s path to recurring revenue.

No immediate market reaction data was reported following the announcement. The partnership follows other recent Arqit collaborations, such as with 6WIND and Intel, and coincides with a broader industry movement toward quantum‑safe security, highlighted by Thales’ demonstration of quantum‑safe 5G on the same day.
