Aware announced that its Intelligent Liveness and identity verification platform passed a series of independent third‑party evaluations, including ISO/IEC 30107‑3 presentation attack detection testing by BixeLab. The tests showed zero false rejections of legitimate users at Levels 1 and 2, 100 % successful user completion at Level 3, and zero successful attacks at Levels 2 and 3, confirming the system’s ability to detect advanced spoofing techniques.

The company also completed bias testing under ISO/IEC 19795‑10, demonstrating consistent performance across age, sex, and ethnicity groups in realistic operating conditions.

In addition, Aware participated in the U.S. Department of Homeland Security 2025 Remote Identity Validation Rally, where it was one of only five vendors to meet all high‑performance goals and one of three to achieve zero failure‑to‑extract rates for both selfie and identity document images, while maintaining the lowest false match rate among competitors.

Finally, Aware achieved FIDO2 Server Certification, validating its ability to support passkey‑based authentication layered with biometric verification.

These certifications reinforce Aware’s position as a trusted provider of mission‑critical biometric solutions and support its strategy to grow recurring revenue through validated, high‑trust technology.

Aware’s recent financial performance shows mixed results: Q4 2024 total revenue rose 10 % to $4.8 million, driven by software license revenue, while recurring revenue fell 10 % to $3.3 million. Full‑year 2024 total revenue decreased 5 % to $17.4 million from $18.2 million in 2023, but recurring revenue increased 9 % to $12.0 million. The company is focusing on cost optimization to improve profitability.

CEO Ajay Amlani said, "In my first 30 days at Aware, I've seen firsthand the deep commitment of our team to innovation and the strength of our security solutions at a time when advanced protection has never been more critical." He also noted, "The biometrics industry operates in long cycles, and while macroeconomic headwinds and government budget constraints remain challenging..."

The independent validations and certifications are expected to enhance Aware’s ability to win government contracts and expand its enterprise customer base, potentially translating into higher recurring revenue streams and stronger market positioning.
