Aware, Inc. reported that its Intelligent Liveness solution achieved flawless performance in the active liveness evaluation of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Remote Identity Validation Rally (RIVR) Track 3. The test, part of the 2025 DHS RIVR program, was conducted at the Maryland Test Facility and required live human participants and simulated sophisticated attack scenarios.

Across all attack classes A and B, the solution recorded zero successful attacks while maintaining a Bona Fide Presentation Classification Error Rate (BPCER) below the 5 % usability threshold. The technology also ranked in the top three for user satisfaction on iOS and Android devices and in the top two for speed, demonstrating that strong security can coexist with a seamless user experience.

The results confirm that Aware’s active liveness detection can withstand real‑world, AI‑driven impersonation attempts, a critical capability as biometric fraud rises. Aware has a history of DHS evaluations, including the 2025 Remote Identity Validation Technology Demonstration (RIVTD) for passive liveness detection, and the RIVR test further validates its product for mission‑critical identity verification in federal and enterprise environments.

"Programs like the DHS Remote Identity Validation Rally are essential to advancing trust in digital identity. By testing active liveness technologies against real‑world attack scenarios, including those involving live human participants, DHS is helping raise the bar for the entire industry. These results reinforce our belief that organizations shouldn’t have to choose between strong security and a seamless user experience," said CEO Ajay Amlani.

Aware’s commitment to independent testing and collaboration with government partners positions the company as a trusted provider for identity verification solutions that meet the highest security and usability standards.
