Booz Allen Hamilton announced that it has been awarded an Other Transaction Authority (OTA) agreement by the U.S. Space Force Space Systems Command to develop a prototype system for the Space‑Based Interceptor (SBI) program under the Golden Dome initiative. The OTA award is part of a broader effort to build a layered, space‑based missile defense platform that will enhance the U.S. military’s ability to detect and neutralize ballistic threats from orbit.

The OTA agreements awarded to the SBI program total up to $3.2 billion and were granted to twelve companies in late 2025 and early 2026. Booz Allen is one of those awardees, positioning it to capture future fixed‑price work and recurring revenue from system integration and support services. The Golden Dome program, a multi‑agency effort, is projected to cost between $175 billion and $3.6 trillion and aims to demonstrate initial capability by 2028.

Booz Allen’s strengths in AI‑native solutions, cybersecurity, and systems integration make it a natural fit for the program. “Booz Allen is uniquely positioned to field emerging capabilities that drive the critical mission of Golden Dome for America,” said Angela Wallace, Executive Vice President. “Over the last decade, we have invested in space‑based missile defense to deliver advanced technology to the mission at speed. We look forward to our continued partnership with the Department of War to advance the future of homeland defense.”

The company’s FY24 financial results underscore the strategic value of the contract. Revenue rose 15.2 % to $10.7 billion, and adjusted diluted earnings per share reached $5.50. In Q1 FY25, revenue was $2.9 billion, up 11 % YoY, while the adjusted EBITDA margin fell 130 basis points to 10.3 %. Defense business revenue grew 16 % YoY, reflecting strong demand in the federal defense market. These results demonstrate Booz Allen’s ability to generate high‑margin growth in its core security segments, a capability that the new OTA contract will further reinforce.

Management highlighted the company’s long‑standing expertise in missile defense and AI. “Booz Allen’s decades of command and control and missile defense experience paired with our advanced software and AI solutions deliver a modern approach to the SBI mission with a performance‑first mindset,” said Katie Carr, engineering director. CEO Horacio Rozanski added, “Booz Allen is 110 years young and transforming to create our future. Our extraordinary workforce is delivering innovation to missions of national importance and our operations are creating efficiency and resiliency across the business. As we report the company’s best performance since going public, our VoLT strategy continues to create outstanding value for our employees, clients, and investors.”

The OTA contract is a strategic win that aligns with Booz Allen’s shift toward outcome‑based, high‑margin defense solutions. By securing a role in the Golden Dome initiative, the company gains a foothold in a program that could generate significant future revenue streams and strengthen its position as a key systems integrator for the U.S. government’s most critical security initiatives.
