Bloom Energy announced that Simon Edwards will become its chief financial officer, effective April 13, 2026. Edwards, 39, brings nearly two decades of experience scaling technology companies, having served as CFO and later CEO at AI‑inference leader Groq and holding senior finance roles at Conga, ServiceMax and GE Digital. He will receive an annual base salary of $550,000, a target cash incentive bonus of 70% of base, and equity awards under a standard employment, change‑in‑control and severance agreement.

"Simon brings deep experience across finance and financial operations, along with the discipline, systems thinking and technology leadership needed as Bloom rapidly builds the power platform for the digital economy and beyond," said founder, chairman and CEO KR Sridhar. "His engineering foundation, background in software and experience scaling AI infrastructure will be highly relevant as industries face increasing constraints around power availability. He will further strengthen our accomplished management team."

Bloom Energy is expanding its production capacity to 2 GW by the end of 2026 to meet surging demand from AI data centers. The company’s product and service backlog has grown 2.5‑fold and 1.5‑fold, respectively, over the past year. Edwards’ appointment is intended to reinforce the company’s financial leadership as it scales operations and pursues new market opportunities in the rapidly growing AI‑driven power sector.
