The PCC™ material functions as an intelligent thermal switch: it insulates lithium‑ion batteries in cold environments while passively cooling them when temperatures rise. The patent covers the composite’s unique phase‑change behavior, enabling safer, more reliable battery performance in extreme climates and mission‑critical applications such as robotics, drones, electric‑mobility, and defense systems.
By securing European protection, Beam Global can now defend its competitive moat in a key global market and pursue new commercial and defense customers that require robust battery solutions.
