Bimergen Energy Corporation has awarded a construction contract to TruGrid, a Texas‑based energy‑storage and solar EPC, for a 40 MW/80 MWh battery energy‑storage system that will be built across four sites in Port Lavaca, Corpus Christi, Victoria and McAllen. The contract covers all engineering, civil, structural and electrical construction work required to bring the project online.

The award is part of Bimergen’s plan to activate the eight 9.9‑MW distributed‑generation portfolio it acquired from Aggreko in early March. By moving these assets from the development phase into construction, Bimergen is generating its first development fees and advancing toward its goal of monetizing a 3.6‑GW pipeline of battery projects. The company’s strategy is to capture value early in the project lifecycle and to build a portfolio that can deliver $300‑$400 million in annual energy‑arbitrage revenue within the next three to four years.

Management said the partnership with TruGrid demonstrates confidence in Bimergen’s execution capabilities. Co‑CEO Cole Johnson noted, "By partnering with experienced EPC providers like TruGrid, we can bring these projects online efficiently while delivering forward‑looking solutions that strengthen the grids and create lasting value.” Co‑CEO Bob Brilion added, "Securing this contract soon after the acquisition reflects our team’s disciplined execution, industry connections, and clear focus on advancing development assets into operating assets, thus delivering meaningful value for our shareholders.” TruGrid’s Chief Commercial Officer Chris Finley said, "Being selected by Bimergen for these projects reflects the importance of partnering with an EPC provider that delivers true bankability and certainty of execution. At TruGrid, our focus is on consistent, best‑in‑class project delivery that brings projects online safely, on time, and on budget. These assets are critical to strengthening grid reliability and flexibility across Texas, and our team is committed to executing at a level that gives our partners and stakeholders full confidence in the outcome."

The Texas ERCOT market is experiencing rapid growth in battery storage, driven by economic expansion, industrial demand and renewable penetration. While increasing market saturation is compressing ancillary‑service prices, the continued need for grid reliability and flexibility provides a tailwind for projects like Bimergen’s. The company’s focus on early development‑to‑construction transitions positions it to capture value before the market becomes more price‑competitive.
