Booking Holdings announced that Booking.com will serve as the official travel partner for the Route 66 Centennial, a 100‑year celebration of the historic highway. The partnership gives Booking.com a new distribution channel for U.S. road‑trip bookings across the 2,448‑mile route.

The Route 66 Centennial runs from April 30 to May 3, 2026, with events in eight states—Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, and California. Booking.com will allow travelers to book hotels, car rentals, and experiences along the entire route through its platform.

The deal aligns with Booking Holdings’ Connected Trip strategy, which bundles flights, hotels, car rentals, and activities into a single booking. CEO Glenn Fogel has highlighted the growth of connected trip transactions, noting that they represent a high single‑digit percentage of total bookings and are increasing year over year.

The partnership is a material customer win that expands Booking Holdings’ presence in the U.S. road‑trip market and creates a new revenue stream. By tapping into the centennial’s high‑profile audience, Booking.com can capture incremental bookings and strengthen its competitive position against rivals that focus on single‑service bookings.

Other founding sponsors of the centennial include American Express, AAA, Harley Davidson, and Rand McNally, underscoring the event’s national reach. The partnership positions Booking.com to showcase its integrated travel platform to a broad audience of road‑trip enthusiasts and reinforces its strategy to deliver seamless, connected travel experiences.
