Baker Hughes announced that it will supply 25 BRUSH™ Power Generation DAX 7 electric generators to Boom Supersonic, a move that will support Boom’s 1.21‑gigawatt commitment to Crusoe for critical AI data‑center infrastructure.
The order is part of a broader partnership that includes Boom’s 42‑megawatt Superpower aeroderivative turbines. Together, the two companies have firm orders for 31 generators totaling 1.3 GW of capacity. Deliveries are scheduled to begin mid‑2026 and continue through 2028, with units shipped to Houston and London as part of the project’s global footprint.
For Baker Hughes, the deal adds a significant new revenue stream to its Industrial & Energy Technology (IET) segment and reinforces the company’s pivot toward higher‑margin industrial markets such as data‑center power generation. The IET segment’s backlog reached a record $32.4 billion at the end of 2025, providing multi‑year revenue visibility and underscoring the strategic importance of this partnership.
Analysts have responded to the announcement by raising price targets for Baker Hughes to $64 and $68, reflecting confidence in the company’s growing exposure to AI‑driven data‑center power and the broader shift toward decarbonized, high‑efficiency gas‑turbine solutions.
"This collaboration illustrates how Baker Hughes' power systems capabilities are addressing the energy needs of the data center industry, one of the key drivers of growing global power demand," said Lorenzo Simonelli, Chairman and CEO of Baker Hughes. "We are seeing a global power demand multiyear growth cycle, supported by LNG, gas infrastructure, and electrification trends."
"Collaborating with a world‑class energy technology company like Baker Hughes is how we deliver on that promise, pairing our supersonic turbine with their proven generators to provide reliable power for our customers," said Blake Scholl, CEO of Boom Supersonic.
The order positions Baker Hughes as a key supplier of power equipment for high‑density AI data‑center projects and signals a continued expansion of its NovaLT‑derived technology into new markets. The partnership also provides Boom Supersonic with a diversified revenue stream that supports the development of its Overture supersonic aircraft, illustrating how aerospace technology can be leveraged to meet the growing power demands of AI infrastructure.
