BlackSky Technology Inc. announced that it has added more than two dozen new customers to its Gen‑3 On‑Demand subscription service during the first quarter of 2026. The new accounts include U.S. and international government agencies as well as commercial entities that rely on real‑time, high‑cadence imagery and AI analytics.

The Gen‑3 constellation delivers 35‑centimeter electro‑optical resolution and rapid tasking, enabling customers to receive near‑real‑time alerts and imagery. By expanding its On‑Demand customer base, BlackSky is moving pilot programs into longer‑term, high‑margin subscription contracts that the company describes as low‑churn and predictable.

"These initial On‑Demand contracts give us strong visibility into the next wave of Gen‑3 customers. BlackSky is successfully capturing new customers and transitioning these accounts — many of which start out as small pilot programs — into larger, long‑term subscriptions. Subscription‑based contracts tend to be low‑churn and drive predictable revenue growth as part of our land‑and‑expand strategy," said CEO Brian O’Toole.

"Demand for Gen‑3 continues to be very strong. These subscriptions grow our pipeline and collectively demonstrate the repeatability and proven scalability of BlackSky's commercial subscription services in support of critical regional and global high‑cadence monitoring operations at machine speed and scale," O’Toole added.

The market has reacted positively to the announcement, citing BlackSky’s successful deployment of its Gen‑3 constellation, the fourth satellite’s first‑light operations on March 10, 2026, and the company’s recent $99 million U.S. government IDIQ contract. These developments reinforce investor confidence in BlackSky’s ability to scale its subscription business and generate predictable, high‑margin revenue.

BlackSky continues to provide 2026 revenue guidance of $120 million to $145 million and has secured additional multi‑year contracts that support its growth trajectory. The new customer wins underscore the company’s strategy to expand its high‑cadence imaging services and strengthen its position in the competitive space‑based intelligence market.
