Blend Labs announced the launch of Autopilot MCP on May 4 2026. Built on the Model Context Protocol, the new platform gives authorized agents secure, programmatic access to the full Blend platform, allowing lenders and partners to build and deploy AI agents directly within their loan origination workflows.

The launch represents a strategic expansion of Blend’s AI capabilities beyond its existing Autopilot product. By opening the platform to third‑party AI agents, Blend aims to accelerate the adoption of automated decisioning and document processing, potentially increasing transaction volume and revenue per loan.

"Until now, the hardest problem in lending AI wasn’t the intelligence of the models. It was getting them connected to the right systems, with the right controls, in a way a bank’s compliance team could actually approve. Autopilot MCP solves that. The intelligence is customizable, the infrastructure is shared. Lenders aren’t buying a specific AI feature. They’re getting a surface they can program," said Nima Ghamsari, Co‑founder and Head of Blend.

Blend’s Q4 2025 results provide context for the launch. Revenue reached $32.4 million, up 7% year‑over‑year, while non‑GAAP operating income rose to $5.4 million, a 48% increase from the prior year. Gross margin improved to 80%, up 400 basis points. For Q1 2026, Blend guided revenue of $28.5 million to $30 million and operating income of $2 million to $3 million, reflecting continued focus on scaling the AI platform while managing costs.

The introduction of Autopilot MCP positions Blend to capture a larger share of the growing embedded AI market in mortgage and consumer banking origination. The shared infrastructure reduces integration friction for lenders, enabling them to program custom AI solutions without building new systems, thereby enhancing competitive differentiation and long‑term growth prospects.

The launch marks a strategic milestone that could drive future revenue growth and strengthen Blend’s position as a leading AI‑enabled origination platform.
