Nuburu Begins Production of GRAELION Counter‑Drone Platform, Projecting €5‑10 Million Phase 1 Revenue

Nuburu, Inc. (NASDAQ: BURU) has moved its GRAELION counter‑drone platform from a structured cooperation agreement with Italian defense‑tech firm Tekne and Ukrainian partner Beryl into a full production line. The first tactical prototype has entered manufacturing, marking the company’s first step toward qualifying, deploying, and selling the system to Ukrainian forces.

Prior to this milestone, Nuburu’s financials were precarious. The company reported a net loss of $22.4 million in Q3 2025, held only $5.9 million in cash and equivalents against $67.0 million in total liabilities, and generated just $9.30 k in revenue for the twelve months ending September 30 2025—a 98.20 % decline from the prior year. The projected Phase 1 revenue of €5‑10 million therefore represents a dramatic upside relative to its historical earnings and could provide a critical cash infusion.

The full program is expected to generate €80‑120 million in total revenue as production ramps. This potential upside is significant because it would more than cover the company’s current operating losses and could shift Nuburu from a “substantial doubt” going‑concern status to a more sustainable business model. The revenue projection also signals a shift from a laser‑technology niche to a broader defense and security platform offering, aligning with the growing global counter‑drone market.

Nuburu’s role in the program extends beyond manufacturing. The company will set pricing, participate in margin calculations, coordinate capital, and integrate higher‑margin non‑kinetic and software subsystems into the platform. This integration is intended to improve overall profitability and create a more diversified revenue stream, addressing the company’s historically negative gross and operating margins of –1389.0 % and –6565.2 % respectively.

"The entry into production marks the transition from structured agreement to executing program," said Alessandro Zamboni, Executive Chairman and Co‑CEO of Nuburu. "The program is progressing through a defined qualification and deployment pathway," added Dario Barisoni, Co‑CEO of Nuburu and CEO of Nuburu Defense LLC. These statements underscore the company’s confidence in the production milestone and its potential to transform Nuburu’s financial trajectory.
