Bowman Consulting Group Ltd. (NASDAQ: BWMN) completed the acquisition of Smith & Associates Land Surveying, LLC, a Las Vegas‑based firm with more than 30 years of experience in boundary, topographic, land development, utility and construction surveying. The transaction closed on May 4 2026 and is structured with a mix of cash and a seller promissory note.
The deal is expected to add roughly $2 million in annualized net service billing, a figure that will immediately lift Bowman’s revenue and earnings. In the fourth quarter of 2025, Bowman reported net service billing of $114.6 million and net income of $2.0 million, a sharp decline from the $5.9 million earned in the same quarter a year earlier. The $2 million contribution represents a significant portion of the current quarterly earnings and will help offset the decline in net income.
Management said the acquisition expands Bowman’s geospatial platform and strengthens its presence in the Southwest, a region experiencing rapid population growth and infrastructure investment. By adding Smith & Associates’ expertise in surveying, Bowman can offer a broader range of integrated engineering and program‑management solutions to public and private clients, reinforcing its strategy of growth through targeted acquisitions.
Gary Bowman, founder and CEO, noted, "This acquisition strengthens Bowman's presence in the Southwest region, including the growing Las Vegas market, which continues to benefit from long‑term population growth and infrastructure investment." Mr. Smith, founder of Smith & Associates, added, "Joining Bowman represents an exciting next chapter for our team and our clients. Becoming part of Bowman allows us to expand our capabilities and support a broader range of infrastructure projects with enhanced resources and technology while continuing to deliver the high‑quality service our clients expect."
The transaction aligns with Bowman’s broader consolidation strategy, having completed more than 35 acquisitions since its 2021 IPO. The company’s 2025 full‑year results showed net service billing of $434.8 million and net income of $12.8 million, up 14.5% and 100% respectively from 2024. Bowman has raised its 2026 net service billing guidance to $495 million–$510 million, reflecting confidence in continued demand for its expanded geospatial and engineering capabilities.
