Celanese Corporation announced that it will raise prices for its Acetyls Chain products worldwide, with the new rates taking effect immediately or as contracts allow. The company said the decision was driven by rising raw‑material costs and ongoing supply‑chain disruptions that have pressured margins across the chemical industry.

The price hikes are part of a broader strategy to manage the company’s portfolio and protect profitability. In a related announcement, Celanese noted that it had also increased prices for Engineered Materials products effective April 1, 2026, and had previously raised prices for Acetic Acid, Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM), and related derivatives in the Western Hemisphere earlier in February.

Celanese’s Acetyls Chain generated $1.2 billion in net sales in Q4 2023, with a 3% sequential decline in pricing. The new price increases are expected to offset the cost inflation and help maintain the segment’s contribution to overall revenue.

Management emphasized that, despite dynamic market conditions, Celanese remains well positioned to support its customers through its regional supply‑chain network, manufacturing sites, and technology and innovation centers. "Despite these dynamic conditions, Celanese remains well positioned to support its customers via its regional supply chain and manufacturing sites, as well as its technology and innovation centers," the company said.

The announcement signals Celanese’s confidence in demand for its Acetyls Chain products and its ability to pass on higher costs to customers while preserving margin strength in a challenging market environment.
