Constellation Energy Corporation, through its Calpine LLC subsidiary, signed a 380‑megawatt power purchase agreement with Dallas‑based data‑center developer CyrusOne for a new facility adjacent to the Freestone Energy Center in Freestone County, Texas.

The contract provides CyrusOne with grid connectivity, site infrastructure, and a reliable power supply for the new data center, and it includes a Phase 2 agreement that adds an additional 380 MW. Combined, the agreements total more than 1,100 MW of capacity for CyrusOne’s Texas data‑center portfolio, underscoring Constellation’s expanding footprint in the state’s rapidly growing data‑center market.

Constellation is the largest private‑sector power producer in the United States, with 55 GW of capacity and the largest clean‑energy portfolio in the country. The January 2026 acquisition of Calpine added significant natural‑gas generation capacity, complementing Constellation’s nuclear fleet. The company’s “Powered Land” offering—integrating generation, land, and grid access—enables it to deliver carbon‑free power to hyperscalers quickly and reliably, a key competitive advantage in the AI‑driven data‑center sector.

Texas is a leading hub for data‑center development, driven by the explosive growth of artificial‑intelligence workloads and digital services. Constellation’s nuclear plants provide 24/7, carbon‑free supply, while its gas assets offer flexible, dispatchable power. This agreement not only adds a substantial long‑term revenue stream but also positions Constellation to capture a larger share of the AI‑driven data‑center market in the region.

Joe Dominguez, Constellation’s president and CEO, said the deal demonstrates the company’s ability to meet the growing demand from the data economy while maintaining grid reliability, creating jobs, and supporting local communities. Eric Schwartz, CyrusOne’s CEO, noted that the partnership enables reliable, scalable infrastructure for customers and strengthens community grid reliability.

The 380‑MW agreement, together with the Phase 2 expansion, highlights Constellation’s focus on long‑term power purchase agreements and its strategy to leverage clean‑energy assets to serve the high‑growth data‑center market. The deal adds a significant, predictable revenue source and reinforces the company’s leadership position in powering the next generation of AI and digital infrastructure.
