Central Garden & Pet and Phillips Pet Food & Supplies announced a joint venture that will combine the two companies’ distribution capabilities under an 80/20 ownership structure, with Phillips and its investors holding 80% and Central retaining a 20% stake. The new entity will operate under the Phillips brand and will be led by Phillips CEO and Chairman Blaine Phillips.
The partnership is designed to create a more agile, nationwide pet‑product distribution network. Central’s portfolio of branded pet supplies will be supported by Phillips’ extensive logistics infrastructure, which includes 11 distribution centers across the United States and a broad customer base that spans pet stores, groomers, veterinarians, and specialty retailers. Central’s CEO Niko Lahanas said the venture “strengthens the foundation of our distribution business by placing it within a scaled platform built for growth, while enabling Central to further expand the reach of our branded pet supplies portfolio.”
