Charter Communications announced that its Spectrum TV app will be available on Amazon Fire TV devices starting April 15, 2026, expanding the service to Fire OS 6+ and Vega OS platforms. The rollout includes popular models such as the Fire TV 4K Select, Fire TV 4K Max, Fire TV Omni QLED Series, Hisense U6, TCL QM64L Series, and Panasonic Z95B, among others.

Existing Spectrum TV subscribers can access the app on these devices at no additional cost, allowing them to stream live television and on‑demand content directly from their Amazon Fire TV sticks, smart TVs, and other compatible devices. The move removes the need for sideloading the app and provides a seamless login experience without separate credentials.

The expansion is part of Charter’s broader strategy to use video as a retention tool for its core broadband and mobile services. By making the Spectrum TV app available on a widely used streaming platform, Charter aims to increase customer convenience and reduce churn, while reinforcing its converged connectivity model that bundles high‑margin broadband and mobile offerings with video content.

"The Spectrum TV App is designed to fit seamlessly into how customers stream TV today," said Elena Ritchie, Senior Vice President of Video at Spectrum. "Making it available on Amazon Fire TV devices will give our customers even more flexibility to access their Spectrum TV service on the streaming platforms they use every day."

"Our mission at Fire TV is to get customers to the content they want fast, and we’re super excited to add Spectrum TV to the Fire TV experience," said Aidan Marcuss, Vice President of Amazon Fire TV. "Spectrum customers will now soon be able to access the Spectrum TV App on a wide range of smart, powerful, and fast Fire TV devices, from Fire TV Sticks to Fire TV‑powered Smart TVs from leading TV brands."

The Spectrum TV app has already been the most‑viewed streaming service in the U.S. on an hours‑per‑household basis and the highest‑rated pay‑TV streaming app, according to Comscore CTV Intelligence data through January 2026. The new Amazon Fire TV availability extends the app’s reach beyond its existing presence on Apple TV, Roku, Samsung, LG, VIZIO, and Xbox platforms.

Charter’s recent financial results show a modest decline in revenue and a slight loss of internet customers, but the company has maintained strong mobile growth and a stable video customer base. The app expansion is expected to support Charter’s ongoing effort to drive incremental revenue through bundled services and to strengthen its competitive position amid broadband market saturation and rising competition from fiber and fixed‑wireless providers.
