Coherent Corp. announced the launch of its CHR1074 224‑Gbps quad‑channel transimpedance amplifier (TIA), a component engineered to support next‑generation 800G and 1.6T optical transceivers that are essential for AI and cloud data‑center environments.
The CHR1074’s fast‑settling architecture restores full performance within 50 nanoseconds, delivering ultra‑fast link recovery. It also offers high signal integrity, low noise, and optimized power consumption in a compact form factor, enabling system designers to scale bandwidth while maintaining energy efficiency.
The new TIA aligns with Coherent’s Datacenter & Communications segment, which accounts for 72 % of the company’s sales, and reinforces its leadership in high‑speed optical ASICs. By providing breakthrough performance and system‑level efficiency, the product positions Coherent as a strategic partner for hyperscale customers building 224‑Gbps transceivers.
Coherent’s long‑term partnership with NVIDIA—backed by a multibillion‑dollar purchase commitment and a $2 billion investment—has expanded to include the CHR1074. “AI‑driven infrastructure is redefining performance and power requirements across the optical interconnect ecosystem. With the CHR1074, Coherent strengthens its leadership in high‑speed optical ASICs by delivering both breakthrough performance and system‑level efficiency. Together with our silicon photonics driver portfolio, this solution positions Coherent as a strategic partner for customers building the next generation of 224Gbps transceivers,” said Beck Mason, Executive VP – Semiconductor Devices. “This strategic relationship underscores Coherent’s role as a key enabler of next‑generation AI data center infrastructure. We are proud to expand our 20‑year relationship with NVIDIA by increasing their access to include multiple product families to help them build the AI data centers of the future,” added Jim Anderson, CEO.
Coherent recently reported Q2 FY2026 revenue of $1.69 billion and non‑GAAP EPS of $1.29, both exceeding consensus estimates. The Datacenter & Communications segment drove the majority of revenue, underscoring the relevance of the new TIA to the company’s core business. The product launch is expected to support continued growth in the high‑speed optical market.
The CHR1074 launch marks a significant milestone in Coherent’s product roadmap, delivering breakthrough performance and energy efficiency that will help hyperscale customers meet the bandwidth and power demands of AI and cloud workloads.
