Cricut, Inc. introduced its AI‑Powered Project Designer on April 14, 2026, a conversational tool that lets users describe a project idea in natural language and receive a ready‑to‑cut design. The feature is embedded in the company’s Design Space software and supports single‑operation, two‑dimensional projects such as stickers and cards.

The launch comes as Cricut reports a 3% decline in revenue for Q4 2025 compared with Q4 2024 and a less than 1% decline for the full year 2025 versus 2024. Segment data show Platform revenue grew 6% while Products revenue fell 8%, underscoring the company’s shift toward software and subscription services.

The AI Project Designer uses an AI Credits system. Free users receive a one‑time credit deposit, while Cricut Access subscribers receive monthly credits based on their plan. The model is designed to drive adoption of the Cricut Access subscription, a key component of the company’s recurring revenue strategy.

By adding another AI‑powered tool to its Design Space suite, Cricut positions itself against competitors in the creative‑technology market. The new feature builds on the earlier Create AI generative tool launched in July 2025 and is intended to lower the barrier to entry for new users while encouraging deeper engagement from existing subscribers.

CEO Ashish Arora said, “AI Project Designer turns intent into action. Instead of navigating tools, you simply describe what you want to make, and Cricut brings it to life. It’s a simpler, faster, and more intuitive way to create.” The company signals that the tool will support its broader strategy of accelerating platform development and competing more effectively in the mass‑market creative‑software space.
