Critical Metals Corp. (CRML) has appointed Thomas "TYT" Mogensen as chief executive officer of Tanbreez Mining A/S, the company’s Greenland‑based rare‑earth project. Mogensen brings more than two decades of leadership in finance, infrastructure and natural‑resource projects across Greenland and the Nordic region, having steered a turnaround at Nalik Ventures A/S and served as managing director of the Greenlandic self‑government’s business‑development arm.

Mogensen’s appointment is a strategic move designed to accelerate Tanbreez’s transition from exploration to active development. The project is described as one of the world’s largest undeveloped heavy‑rare‑earth deposits outside China, with a preliminary economic assessment valuing the asset at an estimated $3 billion net present value and a target for first ore production in Q4 2028. CRML’s recent consolidation of ownership to 92.5% after the Greenland government approved the transfer of the final 50.5% interest removes a key structural barrier and gives the company full operational control.

The new CEO will oversee a $30 million acceleration program approved in March 2026, which is intended to fast‑track the project toward its production goal. CRML has also secured a $120 million letter of intent from EXIM Bank for project financing and an $85 million PIPE offering, providing the capital needed to advance construction and permitting in the Arctic environment.

"Mogensen's extensive experience in Greenland's business environment, combined with his proven ability to deliver strong financial and operational results, makes him the ideal leader to guide Tanbreez through the development stage of our world‑class rare earth project—particularly given the value of his commercial and governmental experience in Greenland in driving this next phase forward," said Tony Sage, chairman of CRML.

"I am honored to join Tanbreez at such an important time in its development. The Company holds a unique asset of global significance, and I look forward to working with the team, stakeholders, and partners to unlock its full potential in a responsible and sustainable manner," added Mogensen.

The appointment signals CRML’s commitment to positioning Tanbreez as a critical supplier of heavy rare earths for Western defense and clean‑energy markets. With a robust resource base, a clear production timeline, and strengthened ownership, the project is poised to deliver on its strategic promise of a high‑value, low‑radioactivity rare‑earth supply chain that aligns with global ESG and security priorities.
