DuPont de Nemours, Inc. (DD) announced the launch of an expanded WAVE PRO platform that now incorporates reverse osmosis (RO) and nanofiltration (NF) modules in addition to its existing ultrafiltration (UF) and ion‑exchange (IX) capabilities. The new version is available on DuPont’s WaterApp, a cloud‑based environment that lets users model feedwater conditions, operational scenarios, and economics for municipal, industrial, and seawater desalination projects in a single interface.
The WAVE PRO platform has evolved in three stages: UF modeling debuted on March 10, 2025; IX resins were added on September 16, 2025; and the March 3, 2026 announcement completes the core technology suite. By unifying UF, IX, RO, and NF, the platform delivers more accurate system sizing, energy‑use optimization, and cost projections, which can shorten design cycles and lower capital expenditures for water treatment projects worldwide.
DuPont’s water business, which generated roughly $1.5 billion in sales with an operating EBITDA margin of about 24% last year, is slated to spin off as a distinct entity by spring 2026. The expanded WAVE PRO platform positions the company to capture growing demand for efficient, low‑carbon water treatment, especially in regions facing scarcity and regulatory pressure to reduce energy consumption. The tool also supports DuPont’s sustainability focus, helping customers lower energy use and environmental footprints while achieving financial goals.
Gary Gu, Global Technology Leader at DuPont Water Solutions, said the platform “provides more accurate, data‑driven system design that optimizes membrane and energy use, can extend asset lifetimes, and helps customers reduce the environmental footprint of water treatment while achieving their operational and financial goals.” His comments underscore the strategic intent to deliver tangible value to customers and reinforce DuPont’s competitive moat in the digital water solutions market.
The integration of FilmTec® RO and NF elements—known for performance and reliability—into the platform further strengthens DuPont’s product portfolio. By offering a single, cloud‑based design environment that covers the full spectrum of water treatment technologies, DuPont is better positioned to serve a broad customer base, from municipal utilities to large industrial plants, and to accelerate the adoption of sustainable water solutions across the industry.
