DuPont de Nemours, Inc. (DD) announced that its Water Solutions division has been selected by United Utilities to supply MemCor™ membrane bioreactor (MBR) systems for three wastewater treatment plant expansions in the North West of England. The contracts cover the Eccles, Salford and Wigan sites, with the Wigan plant serving a population of more than 437,000 people and becoming the largest MBR facility in the United Kingdom.

The MemCor™ MBR technology combines activated sludge treatment with membrane filtration, delivering superior effluent quality, operational flexibility and reduced maintenance costs. The partnership is expected to strengthen DuPont’s footprint in the European water sector and support its strategy of expanding its high‑margin water technology portfolio.

United Utilities’ spokesperson noted that procuring MBR technology at scale provides economies of scale, faster delivery and long‑term operational value. For DuPont, the contracts represent a significant customer win that underscores demand for its membrane solutions and reinforces its position as a leading provider of advanced water treatment technologies worldwide.

United Utilities is investing £13 billion over the next five years to upgrade its water and wastewater infrastructure, aiming to reduce storm overflows by 60 % by 2030. The three‑site MBR deployment is part of that broader program and will help the company meet tighter water quality requirements for the environment and benefit the communities it serves.

Analysts have responded to the contract win by raising price targets. Deutsche Bank lifted its target to $58 from $46, and RBC Capital increased its target to $60 from $51, citing the deal as a tangible backlog and recurring‑revenue catalyst for DuPont’s Water Solutions unit.

While the financial value of the contracts was not disclosed, the win is expected to generate substantial recurring revenue for DuPont’s Water Solutions division. The company’s Q4 2025 earnings showed a GAAP loss of $108 million and an adjusted EPS of $0.46, with net sales of $6.8 billion and organic sales growth of 2 %. DuPont’s guidance for 2026 projects adjusted EPS of $0.48 for Q1 and $2.25–$2.30 for the full year, with net sales of $1.67 billion for Q1 and $7.075–$7.135 billion for the year. The contract win comes as DuPont prepares to spin off its water business into a standalone entity by spring 2026, a move that will further highlight the value of its high‑margin water technology portfolio.
