Datadog announced that its new MCP Server is now generally available, giving developers and operations teams secure, real‑time access to the company’s unified observability data so that AI agents can debug and automate workflows directly within the platform.

The MCP Server is a bridge that allows AI agents to pull logs, metrics and traces from Datadog through a defined protocol, enabling developers to stay in their IDEs while the AI performs diagnostics and automates remediation. By embedding AI into the observability stack, Datadog is positioning itself as a first‑mover in the emerging AI‑ops market and reinforcing its value proposition to AI‑native customers.

Chief Product Officer Yanbing Li said the launch “enables autonomy across Dev, Ops and Security teams so that they can not only detect, decide and act on issues within Datadog, but also build, deliver and evaluate software throughout the development process.” Li added that combining telemetry from Datadog’s platform into teams’ AI workflows “moves us from simply AI copilots to AI operating on live production systems.”

Investors responded positively to the announcement, with analysts noting the launch as a key growth driver. The product launch follows Datadog’s recent financial performance, in which revenue grew 28% to $3.4 billion and gross profit margin reached 80%, underscoring the company’s strong execution and the potential for the MCP Server to accelerate future revenue growth.

The MCP Server differentiates Datadog from competitors such as Dynatrace, Elastic and Splunk by providing integrated AI capabilities that can be embedded directly into development and operational pipelines. By expanding its AI‑native offering, Datadog strengthens its competitive edge and positions itself to capture a larger share of the growing AI‑ops market.
