Dell Technologies and sovereign‑cloud provider NxtGen AI have announced the construction of India’s first and largest dedicated AI factory, a facility that will house more than 4,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs and 1,200 Vertiv‑liquid‑cooled Dell PowerEdge XE9685L servers. The plant, slated to open in the second half of 2026, will support generative and advanced AI workloads across healthcare, financial services, and manufacturing, giving Dell a foothold in the country’s fastest‑growing AI market.

The partnership places Dell at the center of India’s AI strategy, where the market is projected to reach $130 billion by 2032 and grow at a 39% CAGR from 2025. By deploying a sovereign‑cloud‑compatible cluster, Dell can offer customers secure, high‑performance infrastructure that meets data‑localization requirements while tapping into a talent pool that is increasingly focused on AI skills. The factory’s scale—larger than any other AI cluster in the region—signals Dell’s intent to capture a significant share of the projected $17 billion AI‑related spend in India by 2027.

NxtGen AI, incorporated in September 2022, brings local expertise in building and operating sovereign cloud frameworks. The company’s role in the project is to ensure that the cluster remains fully compliant with India’s data‑protection regulations, while Dell supplies the hardware, software stack, and integration services. Together, they are creating a “Dell AI Factory with NVIDIA” that can train large language models and other AI applications entirely within Indian borders, a first for the country.

In addition to the factory, Dell has rolled out a new portfolio of devices, services, and curriculum aimed at education customers. The initiative includes Dell Pro Education laptops, Dell Chromebooks, and a curriculum that aligns with AI‑era job requirements. By building a talent pipeline, Dell seeks to drive future demand for its AI servers and related solutions, reinforcing its position as a comprehensive AI infrastructure provider.

Manish Gupta, President and Managing Director for India at Dell, said the partnership “addresses India’s rapid AI growth by delivering a scalable, secure, and sovereign infrastructure that empowers enterprises to deploy AI efficiently and cost‑effectively.” A.S. Rajgopal, MD and CEO of NxtGen, added that the deployment “marks India’s largest AI model‑training cluster, built entirely within a sovereign cloud framework, and underscores the critical role Dell plays in enabling this scale.”

The collaboration underscores Dell’s broader AI strategy, which includes expanding its global AI factory model and leveraging NVIDIA’s Blackwell GPUs to deliver high‑performance, energy‑efficient compute. By combining Dell’s integrated hardware‑software stack with NxtGen’s local expertise, the partnership positions Dell to capture new revenue streams, strengthen its competitive moat, and foster ecosystem development in India’s AI market.
