Disney Cruise Line celebrated the christening of its eighth vessel, the Disney Adventure, on March 4, 2026. The ship arrived in Singapore on March 3 and will begin its maiden voyage on March 10, 2026. The ceremony marked the first time Disney has home‑ported a cruise ship in Asia, positioning the company to serve a rapidly growing Southeast Asian market.

The Disney Adventure, with a gross tonnage of 208,108 GT, can accommodate up to 6,700 passengers and 2,300‑2,500 crew members. The hull was originally ordered as the Global Dream for Genting Hong Kong, but Disney acquired the unfinished ship in November 2022 and completed construction in December 2025. The vessel’s size makes it the largest ship in Disney’s fleet.

Singapore’s strategic location and world‑class port infrastructure make it an ideal hub for Disney’s all‑sea itineraries, which feature no port calls. This model maximizes onboard revenue and delivers a fully immersive Disney experience, appealing to travelers who prefer a resort‑style vacation at sea.

The addition of the Adventure strengthens Disney’s Experiences segment, a key driver of operating income. By expanding its cruise portfolio, Disney diversifies revenue streams beyond theme parks, resorts, and merchandise, and positions the company to capture a share of the growing Southeast Asian leisure market.

Disney executives highlighted the launch as a milestone. Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Experiences, said the ship “represents a new chapter for Disney Cruise Line and will introduce Disney to audiences who may be experiencing our magic for the very first time.” Joe Schott, President of Disney Signature Experiences, added that the arrival “marks a significant milestone in our global expansion, bringing Disney cruising to Asia for the first time.”

The launch signals Disney’s intent to capture a high‑growth market and intensify competition with regional cruise lines. The ship’s size and all‑sea model position Disney to generate higher onboard spend and strengthen its competitive advantage in the region.
