Dow Inc. introduced Multiboard CirculaRR, a fibre‑based packaging solution that combines RDM Group’s recycled cartonboard with Dow’s advanced recycled polyethylene. The launch was unveiled at interpack 2026 in Düsseldorf, which ran from May 7 to 13, 2026.

Multiboard CirculaRR is fully recycled and recyclable, meeting EU Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) requirements for 100 % recyclability by 2030. The plastic component carries ISCC PLUS certification and has been independently tested for recyclability within existing paper recycling streams, ensuring compliance with food‑contact standards for applications such as frozen foods, fruit trays and pet food.

The product addresses growing demand for sustainable packaging and aligns with the EU’s regulatory push toward circularity. By offering a solution that satisfies PPWR and delivers a 100 % recyclable option, Dow positions itself to capture a share of the expanding market for environmentally responsible food packaging.

Marian Gmenta, senior marketing manager for circular and renewable solutions at Dow Packaging & Specialty Plastics EMEA, said, “We’re delighted to partner with RDM Group on this breakthrough circular innovation. By combining RDM Group’s fibre‑based packaging expertise with Dow’s circular polymer know‑how, we have developed a food‑contact‑compliant packaging solution, exclusively from recycled materials, with broad application potential that supports brands and converters as they prepare for upcoming EU packaging requirements such as PPWR.” Krzysztof Krajewski, chief sustainability and innovation officer at RDM Group, added, “Multiboard CirculaRR is a breakthrough packaging innovation that advances circularity in food packaging. Now its plastic part is certified as being made from recycled materials and is designed for recyclability.”

The launch comes as Dow reports Q1 2026 results of net sales of $9.8 billion and a GAAP net loss of $445 million, compared with $10.4 billion and a $290 million loss in Q1 2025. The new product is part of Dow’s broader circular economy strategy, which aims to commercialize 3 million metric tons of circular and renewable solutions by 2030 and to make 100 % of its packaging products reusable or recyclable by 2035.
