Equifax Canada announced the launch of ReadyResponse, a breach‑response coordination service from Breachlink, designed to help small and mid‑sized businesses (SMBs) prepare for, respond to, and recover from cybersecurity incidents.
ReadyResponse bundles readiness resources, specialized legal expertise, and discounted rates for a network of breach‑response professionals. The service includes triage calls with data‑breach lawyers, risk‑assessment tools, an incident‑response guide, and access to discounted forensics, data review, notification, and credit‑monitoring services, enabling SMBs to act swiftly during the critical first 48 hours of an incident.
The launch comes amid a rapidly expanding SMB cybersecurity market. In 2023 the market was valued at approximately USD 54.8 billion and is projected to reach USD 124.2 billion by 2030, a CAGR of 12.3%. In 2024, 61% of SMBs reported a cyber incident, underscoring the growing demand for accessible incident‑response solutions and the regulatory pressure that compels SMBs to invest in security.
Equifax’s broader strategy is to leverage its data and AI capabilities to offer end‑to‑end security solutions. The company has invested roughly $3 billion in its Equifax Cloud and is expanding beyond data‑verification services. By adding ReadyResponse, Equifax Canada creates a new revenue stream that complements its existing analytics offerings and opens cross‑sell opportunities, potentially boosting customer retention and market share in the SMB segment.
Bill Johnston, Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer at Equifax Canada, said, “At Equifax, continuing to be a leader in cybersecurity is a strategic business priority, which includes ensuring that our customers are as prepared as possible for any potential incidents. ReadyResponse is a comprehensive service that can help businesses prepare for and, if needed, receive critical support from the moment an incident is suspected.” Joel Heft, CEO of Breachlink, added, “SMBs shouldn’t have to face complex cyber incidents alone. By working with Equifax Canada, we’re helping businesses stay ahead of emerging threats while making incident support more accessible.”
