Enphase Energy announced that its IQ Battery line will integrate with Evergen’s virtual power plant (VPP) platform, a move that expands the company’s VPP capabilities in Australia and New Zealand. The integration allows Enphase system owners to participate in more than 65 VPP programs across eight countries, enabling battery charging during low‑price periods, exporting during high‑price events, and participation in grid‑support programs that reward flexible energy use.
The partnership unlocks a range of incentives for Australian households. State‑based incentives in South Australia and New South Wales, retailer sign‑up bonuses, and the federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program rebate—offering up to 30% off eligible home battery systems—are now accessible to Enphase customers. The rebate program’s changes, effective May 1 2026, require VPP‑capable batteries, making the Evergen integration a key enabler for households seeking the full benefit of the federal incentive.
"Integrating with Enphase unlocks more choice and more value for Australian households," said Ryan Wood, head of commercial at Evergen. "Our platform now has the potential to enable homeowners to optimize their Enphase batteries, participate in leading VPP programs, and earn new revenue streams while supporting a more resilient grid." The collaboration positions Enphase to accelerate battery adoption and create new revenue streams by leveraging both market demand and government incentives.
Enphase recently launched its IQ Energy Management solution for Australia and New Zealand on March 26 2026, and the company is expected to report Q1 2026 earnings on April 28 2026. Analysts project revenue of approximately $282.27 million and earnings per share of about $0.44, with a forecasted year‑over‑year decline. On the day of the announcement, Enphase’s stock fell 4.76%, a move that analysts attribute to the anticipation of the upcoming earnings report and recent downgrades rather than the partnership itself.
"Australia continues to lead the world in home energy innovation, and our integration with Evergen is another step toward giving homeowners more control and more value from their solar and battery investments," said Marco Krapels, senior vice president of global energy markets and CMO at Enphase Energy. The partnership strengthens Enphase’s competitive position in the Australian and New Zealand markets and aligns the company with a growing VPP ecosystem that is supported by both private and public incentives.
