Ford announced a recall of 179,698 vehicles in the United States, covering 2024‑2026 Bronco SUVs and 2024‑2026 Ranger pickup trucks, after a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation found a loose front seat frame height‑adjust pivot bolt that could prevent the seat from restraining occupants in a crash.

The recall, identified as NHTSA recall number 26S30, involves 62,255 Bronco SUVs and 117,443 Ranger trucks. The defect is a loose or dislodged pivot bolt in the front seat frame, which may compromise occupant restraint during a collision.

Ford will have dealers inspect affected vehicles and replace the pivot links and bolts at no cost to owners. Interim notification letters are expected to begin on May 11 2026, with a final remedy notice anticipated in July 2026. Vehicle owners can verify eligibility by searching their VIN on the NHTSA website, which became searchable on April 30 2026.

The recall follows a similar November 2025 recall of 2021‑2023 Broncos for the same seat‑frame bolt issue, underscoring a pattern of addressing hardware defects across Ford’s lineup. Ford’s management emphasized that its commitment to vehicle quality and customer safety “is paramount,” adding that “the number of vehicles recalled reflects our intensive strategy to quickly find and fix hardware and software issues and go the extra mile to help protect customers.”

While the recall involves a significant number of vehicles, it is not expected to materially affect Ford’s financial performance, as the cost of inspections and replacements is limited relative to the company’s overall operations.
