Fastenal Company announced on March 13 that it will begin construction of a new regional operations and logistics center in Carrollton, Georgia. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, March 24 at 2:30 p.m. ET at the Old Airport Road Development site.

The new facility will be able to expand to 900,000 square feet, a dramatic increase from the current 252,000‑square‑foot distribution center in Atlanta. The scale of the project underscores Fastenal’s commitment to strengthening its logistics footprint in the Southeast.

Fastenal’s strategy is to embed itself into customer operations and grow its Fastenal Managed Inventory network. The larger hub will increase inventory capacity, shorten delivery times, and support the continued expansion of on‑site and digital solutions in a key market.

The Carrollton center will incorporate next‑generation warehouse technologies, including advanced processing software and enhanced material‑handling equipment. These upgrades are expected to raise storage capacity, accelerate order picking, and improve overall customer service speed.

Proximity to local educational institutions provides a talent pipeline, enabling the company to recruit and develop skilled workers for the new facility. This focus on talent development aligns with Fastenal’s broader workforce strategy.

Fastenal reported $8.2 billion in revenue for the year ended December 31, 2025, an 8.7% increase from $7.5 billion in 2024. In Q4 2025, net sales were $2.03 billion, up 11.1% from $1.82 billion in Q4 2024. Gross margin fell 50 basis points to 44.3% due to a mix shift toward lower‑margin contract customers, while operating margin improved thanks to SG&A leverage. The investment signals management confidence in continued growth and operational efficiency.

The announcement was positively received by investors, reflecting confidence in Fastenal’s growth strategy and the strategic importance of the new center.

"The new site gives us dramatically expanded capacity. It also offers close proximity to educational institutions, giving us a great pipeline for talent development and recruitment." – Greg Campbell, Senior Regional Operations Manager

The new distribution center will replace Fastenal’s current Atlanta facility and is slated to open in spring 2027, aligning with the company’s long‑term expansion plans in the Southeast.
