FactSet expanded its AI‑enabled Document Search feature to more than 85,000 users, marking a significant step in its AI strategy. The rollout follows a public preview that began in January and has received strong client feedback.

The new functionality delivers source‑linked results and a natural‑language AI agent that can answer questions and provide summarized insights from transcripts, earnings calls, news, filings and other unstructured data. It also preserves FactSet’s auditability and compliance safeguards, a key requirement for financial‑services clients.

The expansion is part of FactSet’s broader Intelligent Platform initiative, announced in November 2024, which aims to embed generative AI directly into its flagship Workstation and other products. The company has already launched the Transcript Assistant in March 2024 and AI Doc Ingest for Cobalt in February 2026, and appointed a Chief AI Officer in March 2026 to steer the effort.

By making the feature available to more than 85,000 users—roughly a third of its 239,000 global user base—FactSet is positioning itself to compete more aggressively with Bloomberg and Refinitiv. The AI‑powered search is designed to provide industry‑specific insights that generic models cannot replicate, reinforcing FactSet’s competitive edge in the financial‑services technology market.

The rollout also signals FactSet’s commitment to delivering AI solutions that are both powerful and compliant, a combination that is increasingly demanded by institutional investors and regulators alike.
