The move positions Figure, which holds roughly 25 % of the outstanding HASH tokens, to influence the network’s economic incentives while the Foundation retains its decentralized governance model.
The decision reflects Figure’s deepening commitment to the Provenance ecosystem. By providing resources to strengthen the HASH tokenomics and ensuring validators and delegators are adequately compensated, Figure aims to reinforce decentralization and governance. The company also intends to accelerate third‑party adoption, expand cross‑chain integration, and grow the real‑world asset marketplace that it powers.
Under the new structure, the Foundation will keep its on‑chain voting system, and Figure has appointed June Ou, a co‑founder of Figure and former director of the Foundation, as its Director. CEO Michael Tannenbaum said the partnership “positions Figure to augment the Foundation leadership team in not just supporting the existing protocol, but also driving incremental third‑party adoption of the Provenance ecosystem beyond Figure.”
Figure does not expect any material incremental operating expense from this arrangement. The company’s role is primarily governance and support, so its cost base remains unchanged while it gains a stronger influence over network incentives.
