FinWise Bancorp announced a partnership with Vera, Inc. on April 14, 2026 to launch an unsecured consumer credit card program aimed at prime and near‑prime U.S. consumers.

Under the agreement, Vera will serve as Program Manager and purchase receivables from FinWise Bank, which will act as the BIN sponsor. The program will issue both physical and digital cards, carry no annual fee, and offer three reward modes tailored to individual spending patterns. Vera will use Zeta’s Tachyon platform for issuer processing.

The deal expands FinWise’s banking‑as‑a‑service (BaaS) portfolio into the consumer credit card space, creating a new fee‑based revenue stream and deepening its fintech partnership network. It aligns with FinWise’s strategy to diversify beyond traditional lending into payments and regulatory‑enabled product offerings.

FinWise’s recent leadership change—Jim Noone’s appointment as CEO effective April 6, 2026—coincides with this partnership, underscoring a renewed focus on broadening product lines. Vera is led by CEO Sandeep Sachdeva, a former Capital One executive, whose experience adds credibility to the venture.

"We are pleased that Vera selected FinWise as a strategic partner to support its growing business. The Vera launch enables FinWise to further expand its BIN sponsorship capabilities alongside Vera's experienced management team and Zeta as card processor," said Sarah Grotta, Chief Fintech Officer of FinWise.

"We're excited to partner with FinWise Bank, whose deep expertise in BIN sponsorship and commitment to disciplined program execution make them an ideal partner for Vera. FinWise's collaborative approach, strong regulatory foundation, and experience supporting innovative fintech programs give us confidence as we bring a modern, credit card experience to consumers through our platform," said Sandeep Sachdeva, CEO of Vera.

FinWise’s Q4 2025 earnings showed a 10.59% revenue beat but a 22.86% EPS miss, reflecting a mix of strong revenue growth and margin pressure. The new credit card program is expected to add fee income and help stabilize earnings volatility in future periods.

The prime and near‑prime consumer credit card market is sizable, and FinWise’s partnership with Vera positions it against established issuers by leveraging Vera’s technology and FinWise’s regulatory foundation, potentially capturing a share of this competitive segment.

The partnership signals FinWise’s continued emphasis on fintech collaborations and its ambition to become a leading BaaS provider across multiple product lines.
