Flex Ltd. (NASDAQ: FLEX) announced an expansion of its long‑standing partnership with Teradyne Robotics, a division that includes Universal Robots (UR) and Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR). The new arrangement builds on more than 20 years of collaboration in semiconductor test equipment and extends Flex’s role to manufacturing critical components for UR cobots while deploying its own collaborative industrial robots and autonomous mobile robots in Flex production lines.
Under the expanded partnership, Flex will manufacture key components for Universal Robots’ collaborative cobots and will also deploy its own collaborative industrial robots and autonomous mobile robots within its global manufacturing network. This dual role creates a continuous feedback loop that validates robotics technologies at scale and accelerates the replication of successful automation workflows for customers in electronics, industrial equipment, data center infrastructure and other critical sectors.
The expansion supports Flex’s broader strategy to move beyond traditional contract manufacturing toward integrated, technology‑driven solutions. By integrating Teradyne Robotics’ industry‑leading technologies with Flex’s advanced manufacturing capabilities, the company aims to enhance productivity, flexibility and operational resilience, and to serve high‑growth markets such as data center infrastructure and AI‑enabled production environments.
Flex’s recent financial performance underscores the timing of the partnership. In Q4 FY2025, the company reported net sales of $6.4 billion and an adjusted EPS of $0.73. For FY2025, net sales were $25.8 billion and adjusted EPS $2.65. In Q3 FY2026, net sales rose to $7.1 billion and adjusted EPS to $0.87, reflecting strong demand and operational execution across its business segments.
Management highlighted the strategic fit of the partnership. Dennis Kirkpatrick, President of Lifestyle, Consumer Devices, and Core Industrial, said: "For more than 20 years, Flex and Teradyne have partnered to deliver semiconductor equipment at global scale," and added, "Expanding our relationship into robotics and intelligent automation builds on a strong foundation, combining Teradyne Robotics' industry‑leading technologies with Flex's advanced manufacturing capabilities, global footprint and execution expertise." Rodrigo DallOglio, President of Operational Excellence & Transformation, noted: "Working closely with Teradyne Robotics as an automation partner allows us to scale intelligent automation while supporting increasingly complex manufacturing environments for customers in electronics, industrial equipment, data center infrastructure and other critical sectors." Jean‑Pierre Hathout, President of the Teradyne Robotics Group, stated: "Flex's manufacturing experience and global scale make it suitable for advancing intelligent automation."
The partnership positions Flex to capture growing demand for intelligent automation, strengthen its competitive position in high‑margin sectors, and accelerate the deployment of robotics solutions for its customers. By integrating robotics into its own operations, Flex can demonstrate end‑to‑end capabilities, potentially opening new revenue streams and reinforcing its shift toward technology‑driven manufacturing services.
