Shift4 Payments announced the completion of its acquisition of Worldline’s North American subsidiaries on March 3 2026. The deal includes Bambora Inc., Bambora Holding Corp., Bambora Corp., and Worldline SMB US, Inc., and brings 140,000 merchants across the United States and Canada onto Shift4’s platform, adding a gateway that supports more than 500 independent software vendors.

The transaction expands Shift4’s footprint in key North American verticals and creates a large funnel of gateway customers and payment volume that can be cross‑sold to the company’s unified commerce suite, including SkyTab POS, VenueNext, and Lighthouse analytics. CEO Taylor Lauber said the deal "brings a substantial gateway portfolio and payments volume onto Shift4’s platform. It follows the same playbook we've used successfully in the past: bringing merchants onto our platform to provide a better payments experience with a streamlined end‑to‑end commerce solution and the opportunity to cross‑sell our full suite of products."

Worldline’s divestment of its North American operations is part of a broader strategy to focus on its core European business. The sale was valued at an enterprise value of approximately €70 million, although the financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Regulatory approvals were obtained and the deal closed on March 2 2026, the day before the public announcement.

The acquisition aligns with Shift4’s pattern of acquiring high‑volume, high‑growth payment ecosystems to accelerate merchant onboarding and volume growth.
