JFrog Ltd. today announced the launch of its Universal MCP Registry, a cloud‑agnostic system of record that consolidates model, agent, and binary artifacts into a single source of truth for AI‑driven software supply chains.

The registry is a core component of JFrog’s broader platform strategy, which seeks to unify DevOps, security, and MLOps on one cloud‑agnostic solution. It follows the March 17, 2026 release of the Agent Skills Registry and builds on the company’s June 2024 acquisition of Qwak AI, a $230 million deal that added end‑to‑end MLOps capabilities to JFrog’s portfolio.

By providing a unified metadata graph for AI models and associated binaries, the Universal MCP Registry aims to reduce supply‑chain risk and accelerate AI adoption in regulated industries. The registry’s design allows enterprises to govern and track AI assets across development, testing, and production environments, addressing the growing challenge of visibility and control in a landscape where developers are rapidly adopting MCP servers from multiple AI tools and vendors.

"Today, developers across the enterprise are rapidly adopting MCP servers from multiple AI tools and vendors, creating a growing challenge for organizations that lack the visibility and control to monitor these connections. We're witnessing a fundamental shift in how software is built and deployed, with AI agents becoming active participants in the software supply chain. This innovation cannot come at the expense of security, visibility, control, or compliance," said Yuval Fernbach, CTO of JFrog MLOps.

The launch signals JFrog’s commitment to the “Liquid Software” vision, positioning the company as a critical infrastructure provider for AI development and deployment. Analysts view the company’s AI strategy positively, noting that the registry’s governance capabilities could give JFrog a competitive edge in the rapidly expanding AI‑governance market.
