CGI Inc. and Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced a multi‑year strategic collaboration that will enable CGI to deliver scalable, mission‑critical solutions powered by AWS’s cloud platform and AI capabilities to U.S. federal, state and local agencies, as well as education, nonprofit and healthcare organizations.

The partnership builds on CGI’s existing Premier Tier Services status with AWS and positions the consulting firm to deepen its presence in the public sector, a market that is increasingly demanding trusted AI, zero‑trust cybersecurity and citizen‑centric services. By combining CGI’s local relationship model with AWS’s global delivery network, the alliance is expected to accelerate the adoption of AI‑driven services and help CGI win outcome‑based contracts that were previously difficult to secure.

CGI’s Q1 fiscal 2026 results—released on the same day—show revenue of $4.08 billion, up 7.7% year‑over‑year, and a net earnings margin of 10.8%. In Q4 fiscal 2025, revenue grew 9.7% to $4.0 billion and the net earnings margin was 9.5%. The partnership is therefore a timely addition to a company that has been expanding its public‑sector footprint while maintaining solid profitability, and it signals management’s confidence that the new collaboration will reinforce CGI’s counter‑cyclical growth engine.

Tim Hurlebaus, President and Chief Operating Officer, said, "This agreement enhances our proven ability to better serve government, education, nonprofit and healthcare organizations in the U.S." He added that the partnership complements CGI’s deep understanding of public‑sector missions and enables the firm to co‑deliver innovative solutions that meet evolving client needs. AWS Vice President of Worldwide Public Sector David Levy noted, "Government agencies need AI that works at mission speed. This collaboration puts advanced cloud and AI capabilities directly into the hands of agencies tackling their toughest challenges, from stopping fraud to securing critical systems to delivering better citizen services."

The collaboration is expected to open new revenue streams and strengthen CGI’s competitive advantage in a market that rewards trusted partnerships. While the announcement does not detail potential headwinds, the strategic focus on AI and cloud adoption reflects broader public‑sector demand for digital transformation and the need for secure, scalable solutions. The alliance positions CGI to capture a larger share of outcome‑based contracts and to leverage AWS’s global infrastructure to deliver faster, more reliable services to government clients.
